abas Portal: New in Version 2006

Companies require a quick and reliabe overview about all relevant data when making important decisions. To support companies in these tasks, the ABAS Software AG has developed the abas Portal.
The new abas Portal enables a central access to the IT world with which employees, customers or business partners can access individually tailored, internal and external business information and services.
With only a few clicks of the mouse, Web-based information and services can be integrated into the portal. Moreover, applications which are not operated via a Web browser, can be integrated. For example, freely configurable data from abas ERP can be arranged in a dashboard. By linking internal data with external services new fields of application can be developed, such as the visualization of sales order data in a map. This process is called mashup.
With very little effort individually tailored areas (communities) for various user groups can be created. User accounts and groups, as well as rights and roles are managed centrally. Administration portlets which are integrated in the portal, enable a detailed management of permissions regarding portal, group, and community level, as well as the portlet level.
Standard applications such as Wikis, Web forums, surveys or RSS Viewer are integrated in the system as portlets and enable new forms of networking and communication.22.12.2006, Team Marketing & Presse
