eBusiness User Conference: abas eB connects the world with abas ERP
Rubber engineering: Scanner organize the warehouse One of the leaders in the field of technical elements such as rubber, rubber-metal and rubber-plastic is the company Gummi Technik Wager+Wagner GmbH. The company is in its third generation and looks back on healthy growth in the past. This increased the need for storage space, which was not expandable at the current location anymore and goods unconventionally had to be stored in the hallways. As a result for the employees, it was not uncommon to rearrange pallets, to gain access to goods that are stored behind them. The next shift‘s staff often was not aware of the rearrangement so that they end up searching for what they needed. Gummi Technik could not expand the storage space but the company turned searching into finding again with the help of abas eB. Remedy was found in a scanner-based warehouse management system. The staff captures the goods with scanners and barcodes and records the storage location in the scanner‘s ERP-input screen. The ERP system delivers information on goods within seconds and helps locating them in the warehouse. This semi-automatic stockyard book entry system saves the company a lot of money. The according scanners and antennas are provided by Barcodat, a provider that specializes in such technology. ADA: Interaction of ERP and Web-Shop ADA Cosmetics International is a global enterprise that exports its products to more than 150 countries worldwide and has more than 300 employees. Around 50% of the purchase orders are processed on-line. The web presence and the on-line shop are available in four different languages. Christian Estenfeld, Head of Pre-Production, shares his positive experiences on using the multilingual abas ERP and the advantages of combining it with the opportunities of their web-shop, "The orders are recorded in the ERP-System in real-time, regardless of the language they have been placed in. Prices can be structured and calculated for different user categories. abas ERP provides centrally held information that reached directly target groups on our various web-presences." Ernst: Connect with your suppliers on-line Using the Ernst GmbH, a conversion technology company, as an example, Markus Greiter, Project Leader and CEO of the ABAS e-Solutions GmbH, explains how corporate processes can be speeded up. Ernst is a development service provider and a mass producer of stamping and deep-drawn parts for the automobile and household appliance industry. As a middle-class supplier the Ernst Conversion Technology manages a manufacturing network across multiple countries that uses globally unified processes. Among their customers are global players such as Bosch, Siemens and Vorwerk. The Ernst GmbH successfully uses the abas Business Software since 1997. The software is frequently updated and therefore always up to date. Their suppliers have been connected with abas ERP and abas eB in 2007. Ever since, the communication with the suppliers has been simplified tremendously. This resulted in practical advantages, such as the handling of delivery receipts for example. The supplier now is able to print out the delivery note for goods which have been processed under the authority of the Ernst company by himself and can enclose the goods as well. The products can be send directly to the customer now. 17.07.2009, ABAS Software AG
